Lux Capital
Lux Capital is a venture capital firm founded by Peter Hébert, Robert Paull, and Josh Wolfe[1] in 2000[2] . The firm invests in emerging technologies in the physical and life sciences.[3][4]
The firm is based in New York, with partners also located in Boston and San Diego. The Lux Capital team has built more than 20 companies from scratch.[3]
Lux's principals have been interested in developing improved methods for the treatment or remediation of nuclear waste, to assist the nuclear power industry.[3]
Lux Capital's portfolio companies include Accelergy[5], Cambrios, Cerulean Pharma[4], Crystal IS, Everspin[2], Genocea Biosciences[2][4], Kala Pharmaceuticals[4], Kereos, Kurion, Lux Research, Luxtera[3], Magen Biosciences, Molecular Imprints, Nanosys, Visterra[6], QD Soleil, SiBEAM, Silicon Clocks, Siluria Technologies, and Transphorm[7].
In April 2011, former McKinsey Senior Partner Richard N. Foster and former CIA Director James Woolsey joined Lux Capital as venture partners[8].
